Sailing the Western Mediterranean

see larger map >>

June 18 to 27, 2020

Sail from the beautiful port of Nice on the newly renovated, three-masted sailing yacht, Le Ponant, to Genoa and then along Italy’s spectacular coastline and to the Italian island of Sardinia and the French island of Corsica.

A pageant of the past. Join classics professor Marsh McCall as we visit Etruscan and Roman ruins at the ancient site of Volterra, the medieval Catalan town of Alghero on the island of Sardinia, and the Napolean Museum in Ajaccio on Corsica. Picture-postcard moments. Go ashore to explore the picturesque fishing villages of the Cinque Terre with their brightly painted dwellings. Clinging to the cliffs on the Ligurian coast, each of these five villages offers its own distinctive flavor.
