Teaching assistant Alex Roetter knows how to lure students to his discussion section for Computer Science 106a (programming methodology): he holds class in the Quad. "If you're doing schoolwork anyway, you might as well enjoy the outdoors," says Roetter, '00, who took advantage of a warm May day to review the finer points of computer memory access. "The only problem is finding a substitute for a whiteboard. I use this notebook."
