    Other ways to connect is to assist with alumni interviews of Stanford applicants (thru the OVAl program in fall and winter), Stanford Beyond the Farm community service (spring), and Admissions party and sendoff (by invite only).

Spring 2020  -- Family Train Ride. In recognition of the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike ceremony in 2019 which connected the first US transcontinental railroad in Promontory Point, UT in 1869, the NC Stanford Alumni Club will organize a special family train ride on the New Hope Valley Railway located just south of Apex. Co-sponsored with the Vanderbilt Alumni Club, and open to our Ivy Plus alumni club colleagues. We expect to have one or more private cars for our group. Loco cab rides will be offered in a special raffle, too! (DETAILS TO COME.)

October 23, 2019 - Young Alumni Happy Hour! We will hold our 2nd Young Alumni Happy Hour this year at 6 pm on Wednesday October 23. An invite was sent by SAA to all Triangle area alumni who graduated within the past 10 years. If you didn't get the email, and graduated within the past 10 years, you are welcome to join us. September 26, 2019 -- Join us for a showing of the acclaimed film, Best of Enemies, and an insightful discussion following with Bill Riddick who brought together KKK member C. P. Ellis and African-American activist Ann Atwater to lead community dialogue on the desegregation of Durham schools. A light dinner prepared by Zweli’s Kitchen featuring their famous samosas and other specialties will be served. 6:00-9:00 pm at the Hill Learning Center in Durham. August 18, 2019 -- FROSH SEND OFF PARTY! Let's give all the new Triangle area students a great send off to Stanford! Hosted by the NC Stanford Alumni Club. This event is limited to new students and their families, and invited alumni. Details and registration available online for those invited.
