Stanford In Entertainment presents a conversation with Franklin Leonard, CEO and Founder of The Black List to speak about his experience in the film industry as a producer and entrepreneur as well as how to best utilize the Black List website as a writer or industry member (ie producer, agent, manager, financier, etc).

In addition to creating the annual Black List, the industry’s favorite un-produced screenplays, Franklin and the Black List team created the Black List website where screenwriters cab make their work available to readers, buyers and employers. Since its inception, it has hosted nearly 80,000 screenplays and teleplays and provided more than 130,000 script evaluations. As a direct result of introductions made on the Black List, dozens of writers have found representation at major talent agencies and management companies, as well as sold or optioned their screenplays. Several films have been produced from scripts showcased on the website including Golden Globe nominated NIGHTINGALE, starring David Oyelowo.

The conversation will be moderated by SIE Board Member Tayo Amos. It will take place virtually on Zoom on Thursday June 17 at 6:30pm PST. Check out the Black List website at

The event is limited to members of Stanford in Entertainment - LA.
