Join us for what promises to be a thought-provoking conversation with Stanford alumnus Jennifer Siebel Newsom (‘96, MBA ‘01), filmmaker, advocate, and Founder & Chief Visionary Officer of The Representation Project (TRP), a nonprofit organization that uses film and media as a catalyst for cultural transformation.  Jennifer founded TRP in 2011, in response to the overwhelming public demand for ongoing education and social action in support of her first film, the award-winning documentary, Miss Representation, which Jennifer wrote, directed and produced.  In 2015, TRP released Jennifer’s second film, The Mask You Live In, followed by The Great American Lie in 2019.  Jennifer also executive produced the Emmy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated documentary The Invisible War and was an executive producer on the Emmy Award-winning documentary The Hunting Ground. Jennifer’s films have been seen by over 28 million people worldwide, and The Representation Project’s social action hashtag campaigns have reached more than 830 million people.

During this not to be missed event, Erin O’Neal Muilenburg, JD ’97, and Jennifer will be discussing The Great American Lie, which focuses on the underlying cultural causes of inequality in America. Attendees are encouraged to view The Great American Lie prior to this event (links to where to watch/rent the film will be provided upon registration).  Following the moderated conversation, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an audience Q&A.

The event is limited to Stanford Alumni/Students.
