February's Book Club selection is Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes.  We are recommending the Edith Grossman translation, but if it's easier for you to get another translation then go ahead.  The novel was first published in two parts, in 1605 and 1615. A founding work of Western literature, it is often labeled "the first modern novel" and many authors consider it to be the best literary work ever written. Don Quixote also holds the distinction of being the second-most-translated book in the world after the BibleWidely regarded as one of the funniest and most tragic books ever written, Don Quixote chronicles the adventures of the self-created knight-errant Don Quixote of La Mancha and his faithful squire, Sancho Panza, as they travel through sixteenth-century Spain.  For February's gathering we will only be discussing Part 1 of the novel (which is close to 400 pages).  Part 2 could be the subject of a future gathering if there is interest.

Club members, alumni, students, parents and their guests are invited to join in.
