Join the Stanford First-gen and/or Low-income Network (FLAN) for another event in our AlumFLI series for recent FLI Graduates! This event is another installment of our FLI-nancial Literacy initiative. 

Investing 101: Investing Basics

Do you want to start investing but don’t know how or where to start? Join Stanford FLAN and David Barson, CEO of Barson Financial Planning, for a beginner’s guide to investing. From David’s presentation, you will learn what investing is, where to invest, the importance of investing, how to manage risks and gain confidence in investing.

Attendees will:

-Learn how many investors invest and how to avoid the common mistakes they make

-Understand why you need to invest

-Learn how to manage risk when you are investing

-Learn how to make the stock market work for you

-Learn different approaches that investors use to get better returns

-Have more confidence around investing so you can make your money work harder for you
