The North Carolina Stanford Alumni Club of Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill is pleased to invite you to our second “Faculty Talk in The Triangle” made possible by generous support from the Stanford Alumni Association.

Join Stanford Political Science Professor Kathryn Stoner, Deputy Director at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University and a Senior Fellow at the Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law, and the Center on International Security and Cooperation at FSI, as she speaks on the topic: Resurrected? Russia’s Return as a Global Power.  Professor Stoner will discuss how Russia’s history led to President Putin’s rise to power, why he moved toward a more authoritarian regime, and how Russia’s relationship with the United States has changed, particularly since President Trump took office.

Enjoy heavy appetizers, no-host bar, and the chance to engage with fellow alumni and friends in the main dining room of the beautiful MacGregor Downs Country Club.

During the evening, you will have the FIRST opportunity to get one of our brand new NC Stanford Alumni Club custom logo, stainless steel, travel mugs. We only have a limited supply of these really nice mugs. These are available as a thank-you gift for a minimum $20 cash donation to support future club events.
