The last ten years have seen an increase in the overall number of venture funds founded by women -- but women in the venture capital space are still heavily underrepresented where it matters most. In 2019:
  • Women represented only about 10% of venture capital partners with investment decision-making power; and
  • Women held only 7% of board seats among some of the most heavily-funded, U.S.-based, private, venture-backed companies, far behind Russell 3000 and S&P 500 companies.
How can we increase the proportion of women and other underrepresented groups in meaningful roles on startup boards and within the venture capital, investing, and entrepreneurial sectors? Why should startup founders care? How can women in these sectors leverage networks and other tools to best navigate the current funding landscape?
Join the Stanford Women's Network-New York on February 27, 2020, for a two-part private event at SAP.iO Foundry New York featuring a stellar group of guest speakers. Light refreshments will be provided.
