Do you make an awesome PBJ?  How about grits or coffee?

Would you slice and display pastries, breads, and bagels?

Maybe you really enjoy meeting, talking to, and serving others in the Chicago community?

No matter what your interests, you are invited to volunteer with Hope's Table Chicago.  Help to prepare food, serve a hot meal to Chicagoans who are hungry, and put away tables/chairs after it is all over.

The Stanford Club of Chicago will try to organize small groups of club members to serve guests of Hope's Table on a quarterly basis, beginning with Feb. 8.  Sign up today to participate in this rewarding community-building experience!

Every meal is served on a Saturday morning.  Servers are asked to arrive by 7:30 to help prepare and set out cold food.  Hot food arrives before 8:45, which is often when the serving begins.  Most guests (100-125 per week) will have fnished eating within an hour. Clean-up is usually finished by 10:00, but could go until 10:30.

Other volunteers may provide legal or social work support (i.e., through DePaul University), medical services (i.e., through Heartland Alliance), supplies for daily living, and/or referrals to community service organizations.

Hope's Table Chicago is sponsored by the First United Methodist Church of the Chicago Temple and is dedicated to Inspiring Lives through Community Connections and Cuisine!
