Learn to collaborate with others, think on your feet, and celebrate mistakes.

Use improv principles to get unstuck, boost confidence and transform your life. Jeff Katzman, '85, Professor and Vice Chair of Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, will share practical skills rooted in improv principles and depth psychology to help live a more authentic, fulfilled and empowered life.

Jeff, who has trained extensively in improvisational theater through companies including Second City in Los Angeles and Los Angeles Theater Sports, will also lead participants in simple improvisation experiences aimed at helping us consider how to write a new script for our lives and create a better world through the strength of rapport building and engagement. His ideas about the applications of improvisational theater to living a more rewarding life were recently published in his book, Life Unscripted.

As one reviewer said, “Life Unscripted details how the magic of an improv class can open doors and change lives without years of talk therapy.… This is a book for all of us facing an increasingly unstable world. Learn why improv is the most delightful way to ‘get over yourself’ and ‘create a life of meaning.’”

Note: Active participation is optional.
