MBSC Family Event!

Come join us for an educational, fun, and family-friendly evening at the Monterey Institute for Research in Astronomy (MIRA), which is dedicated to astronomical research and education. The Astronomy Center on the old Ft. Ord campus includes a main building, electronics & machine shops, and a student observatory.  MIRA operates the world-class Oliver Observing Station atop Chews Ridge in the Santa Lucia Mountains.

Our evening at MIRA will include an informative lecture from one or more MIRA astronomers, a tour of the facilities, and a chance to view planets and other interesting celestial objects from the on-site student observatory (weather permitting). Light refreshments will follow the program.

This evening will be a great opportunity to mingle with fellow alumni and friends while learning more about the fascinating work that is being done locally to advance our understanding of the cosmos.
