Come and learn about the linkage of this beautiful park to no other than a prominent Stanford Alum, Theodore Jesse Hoover, the older brother of President Herbert Hoover.  The Hoover family enjoyed vacationing at Waddell Creek since purchasing the property in 1912.

Julie Cain, Historic Preservation Planner at the Stanford Land Use and Environmental Planning Department, will speak to us about the natural conservation values of the Hoovers.

Co-hosting the event is Jeremy Lin, the Rancho Del Oso State Park interpreter, who is familiar with the history of the Hoovers presence and an expert on the ecology and natural history of Waddell Creek and  Big Basin Redwoods State Park.
