Mr. Marc Barman

Join us on Sunday, April 29 to cheer our three-time Defending National Championship Stanford Women’s Lightweight Rowing team here in Sacramento as they compete in the Western IRA Regatta at the end of April.  This regatta is a qualifying event for the IRA National Championships being held in New Jersey in June.

Our Lightweights have won their National Championships in 7 of the last 8 years.  This year’s team has already won the Lightweight Eight title at the 53rd Annual Head of the Charles Regatta in October.  They are coached by 2017’s Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Coach of the Year, Kate Bertko.  Their spring competition schedule starts on March 31st.

We’ll be at the Nimbus Flat Recreation Area on Lake Natoma in Gold River, next to the Sacramento State Aquatic Center.  Racing is scheduled to start at 8AM.  We’ll provide coffee and munchies!  Look for the Stanford tent and banner near the Finish Line at Nimbus Flat, 1901 Hazel Ave, just north of Hwy 50.  Parking is available in the corporate lots west of Hazel Ave for $10 cash.  Signs on Hazel will direct you to the parking, and shuttle buses will bring you directly to the viewing area.  Admission to the State Park and the event is $10/person (cash).
