The Stanford Alumni Club of Southern Nevada is pleased to bring Adrian Miller, the “Soul Food Scholar,” to Las Vegas on June 28, 2014. He will present the history of soul food while we sample some delicacies from this traditional African American cuisine.

Adrian Miller is a food writer, attorney and certified barbecue judge who lives in Denver, CO. Adrian is a graduate of Stanford University (A.B., '91) and Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., '95). He has served as a special assistant to President Bill Clinton, a senior policy analyst for Colorado governor Bill Ritter, Jr. and a Southern Foodways Alliance board member. Adrian is currently the Executive Director of the Colorado Council of Churches. Adrian’s first book, Soul Food: The Surprising Story of an American Cuisine, One Plate at a Time was published by the University of North Carolina Press in August 2013. Soul Food won the 2014 James Beard Foundation Book Award for Reference and Scholarship.
