    Grilled Navajo Tacos, Panini Happy

    Let’s cheer on our Cardinal as they head down to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl! Here’s a fun recipe for a grilled twist on an Arizona specialty, Navajo tacos. Traditionally, Navajo tacos feature a combination of beans and/or ground beef and toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, onions and cheese all atop crispy fry bread. Since I like to use my panini maker for all kinds of cooking, I’ve opted to grill the fry bread. No panini maker? A regular gas grill will work just as well.

    A Fiesta Bowl travel guide: What to do and where to eat around Phoenix, as suggested by Stanford alumni

    Hey Fiesta Bowl goers, here's a little post-Xmas gift for you: a list of travel tips from a few fellow Stanford alums who know the Phoenix/Glendale area well.

    Fiesta Bowl Menu - Cowboy Steak and Beans

    Can you believe it? We're off to the Fiesta Bowl! If you are gathering friends to watch what looks to be an epic match-off between our dear Cards and Oklahoma State, here's my take on the perfect game-day menu.

    Bone-in ribeye, otherwise known as a "cowboy steak", a nod to our worthy opponents in Oklahoma, which we will be ceremonially eating, by the way, in this menu.

    Pinto beans with jalapeños, bacon, and onions, served with salsa, to acknowledge our fine hosts in Glendale, Arizona.

    Cool, California avocado slices. Perfect to go with the beans, salsa, and steak.

    To drink I recommend a pomegranate and Prosecco bellini, basically sweetened pomegranate juice with Proseco, because it's sophisticated and sparkling cardinal red.

    Fiesta Bowl Adventures in Glendale

    Are you ready to Fiesta in Arizona? I’m here to give my perspective on Stanford’s upcoming participation in the Fiesta Bowl on January 2 in Glendale, Arizona.

    I have a rather unique take on the event. I’m a Stanford graduate, receiving a Masters degree in Broadcast Journalism many moons ago, when we were still shooting on tape and computers took up large rooms.
